Somewhere back in college, during the last week of classes, my friend Joy and I began listing good things about our day to each other. Somehow, no matter how little sleep we got or how long our final papers were supposed to be (and how short they still actually were), we found that when we sat down to think about it, there were always plenty of wonderful things. We settled on seven as the ideal number, and "glorious" as the adjective of choice, and kept up the tradition for a good long time.
Even though I'm not at a time in my life now when I need that pick-me-up, it seems to me that this is a habit I'd do well to pick up again. We can all use reminding how great things are, can't we?
